چکیده
Results: Excluding intercostobrachial nerve, the adequate sensory and motor block rates in group AX on the nerves of brachial plexus were found to be 100% and 92%-100%, respectively. Sensory and motor block rates were both found to be 96%-100% in group SC and also 80%-100%, and 88% in group IS, respectively. In terms of sensory and motor block evaluation of all the nerves, there were statistically signifi cant diff erences among the 3 groups at all measurement times (P < 0.05).

Supraclavicular approach to brachial plexus block using fluoroscopic anatomic landmarks and nerve stimulation.
Irritation of neural structures, specifically the brachial plexus outside of the cervical spine is capable of producing pain in the upper extremity. These pain patterns may be similar to pain originating from the cervical spine, presenting a diagnostic challenge. Brachial plexus block is performed at multiple levels, including interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, and axillary. Inters...
متن کاملCan bilateral bronchospasm be a sign of unilateral phrenic nerve palsy after supraclavicular brachial plexus block?
Ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks facilitate ambulatory anesthesia for upper limb surgeries. Unilateral phrenic nerve blockade is a common complication after interscalene brachial plexus block, rather than the supraclavicular block. We report a case of severe respiratory distress and bilateral bronchospasm following ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block. Patient did no...

متن کاملA Comparative Study of Interscalene and Supraclavicular Approach of Brachial Plexus Block on Upper Limb Surgeries
Introduction: There are different methods to perform brachial plexus block. Interscalene and supraclavicular approaches are the most frequently used technique during upper limb surgeries. The aims of this study were to compare the onset and duration of sensory and motor block, hemodynamic parameters, sparing of analgesia in any dermatome and to observe any adverse effect during lower arm, elbow ...
متن کاملBrachial plexus anesthesia: an analysis of options.
There are multiple sites at which the brachial plexus block can be induced in selecting regional anesthesia for upper extremity surgical patients. The most frequently used blocks are axillary, infraclavicular, supraclavicular, and interscalene. One must understand brachial plexus anatomy to use these blocks effectively, as well as the practical clinical differences between the blocks. Axillary ...
